Wielkanoc prawosławna — najważniejsze święto w Greckim Kościele Prawosławnym.

O dwunastej w nocy następuje moment rozpoczęcia uroczystości Zmartwychwstania Chrystusa. W cerkwiach odprawiana jest wtedy tzw. Liturgia Paschalna

— bardzo uroczysta, często poprzedzona procesją wokół świątyni. Punktualnie o północy wierni witają się słowami:

„Christos Anesti” – „Chrystus zmartwychwstał!” – „Prawdziwie zmartwychwstał!”

Ta noc jest kulminacją całego Wielkiego Tygodnia i ma szczególnie podniosły charakter — światła gasną, a potem zapalane są świece jako symbol Zmartwychwstania.

Orthodox Easter — the most important feast in the Greek Orthodox Church.

At midnight, the celebration of the Resurrection of Christ begins. In churches, the so-called Paschal Liturgy is celebrated — highly solemn, often preceded by a procession around the храм (church). Exactly at midnight, the faithful greet one another with the words:

“Christos Anesti” – “Christ is risen!” – “Truly He is risen!”

This night is the culmination of the entire Holy Week and has a particularly solemn character — the lights are extinguished, and then candles are lit as a symbol of the Resurrection.
